Free target-size image tool
Compress an image to 200 KB or less
A 200 KB limit often leaves more room for a clean thumbnail or a modest product image. The tool starts at 200 KB and measures every result. If your destination specifies square pixels or a format, set those rules too; a smaller file alone is not enough.

Measured example
What happened to one test image at 200 KB?
This reproducible, textured illustration was 589.1 KB (603,220 bytes) at 1200 × 800 pixels. A measured JPG export with a 200 KB cap produced 198.9 KB (203,650 bytes) at 1200 × 800 pixels. It met the cap of 204,800 bytes.
The sample used the server encoder. The default browser encoder, other images, and other browsers can produce different sizes and quality. Check your own result in the tool.

A practical thumbnail workflow
- Read the image-size rule as a maximum or an exact value. Within bounds keeps the whole image; exact canvas adds white space; center crop fills the frame.
- Compare edges and fine texture at the actual display size. More bytes can help detail, but a badly cropped source will not improve through compression.
- Use the batch ZIP when several products share the same limits. The CSV lists each actual output size and flags files that miss the cap.
Where your images are processed
JPG, PNG, and WebP process in your browser by default. HEIC and HEIF go to our server for conversion, and you can choose server processing for other files. The tool accepts up to eight images, 10 MB each and 40 MB in total. It labels any above-cap output as best effort, so check the displayed bytes and pixels before submitting it elsewhere.
Questions about the 200 KB limit
Will 200 KB meet a marketplace's image requirements?
Only if its format, dimensions, and content rules also match. The tool checks bytes and pixels; it cannot certify a marketplace's entire listing policy.
Should I choose JPG or WebP?
Choose the format your destination accepts. WebP is often compact, while JPG remains widely supported. The tool shows the measured output for your choice.
