The server reads the WebP and encodes a new JPG. An animated WebP is not preserved as an animation; use this page for still images.
WebP transparency becomes white because JPG has no alpha channel. Re-encoding can increase file size or reduce detail, even at a high quality setting.
This converter uploads files to the server for processing. The output is temporary and is scheduled for deletion after about 30 minutes. Conversion re-encodes the image and does not promise to preserve EXIF, GPS, or the original color profile. Keep your original if you need any of those details.
Choose JPG when the destination specifically asks for JPG or JPEG. Keep WebP for a site that already accepts it.
If conversion fails, confirm the file is a valid .webp image under 10 MB rather than an incomplete download or renamed file.
