Image format guide
Convert images for the format your destination accepts.
Start with the file you have, then pick the output the form, marketplace, or website asks for. These converters process files on the server; each tool shows its own limits before you start.
iPhone photos
Use these when a HEIC or HEIF photo is rejected by a form or app. Keep the original if you need Live Photo motion or camera metadata.
Everyday web formats
Choose the format required by the place where the image will be used. Re-encoding changes bytes and may change visible detail.
PNG to JPG
For a JPG-only destination; transparent areas become white.
JPG to WebP
For a site that accepts WebP. Compare the resulting bytes with the original.
WebP to JPG
For a form or app that will not accept WebP.
PNG to WebP
For a web image that needs WebP while keeping transparency where supported.
AVIF and modern delivery
AVIF is useful where it is supported. Convert to a requested format when the destination rejects it; compare colors and detail after export.
Older image files
Move older image formats into a requested JPG workflow. Large sources and multi-page files may need extra checking.
Need a KB limit or pixel dimensions too?
Changing format alone does not guarantee a specific file size or width and height. The target-size tool shows the actual output bytes and pixels. For ordinary batch compression or resizing, use the dedicated tools.
