The server reads the PNG pixels and writes a new JPG. Pixel dimensions stay the same; this is format conversion, not resizing.
Transparent pixels are flattened onto white. JPG can introduce artifacts around text, logos, and hard edges. A detailed PNG photo may shrink, while simple graphics may grow.
This converter uploads files to the server for processing. The output is temporary and is scheduled for deletion after about 30 minutes. Conversion re-encodes the image and does not promise to preserve EXIF, GPS, or the original color profile. Keep your original if you need any of those details.
Use JPG for a photo upload that demands JPEG. Retain PNG for transparent logos, screenshots, or sharp text when the destination accepts PNG.
If conversion fails, confirm the .png is complete and under 10 MB. A file renamed to .png without PNG data will not work.
This converter currently uses white. Keep PNG if you need transparency.
